Medieval mosaic beads

Ancient mosaic glass beads:  starting chronologically from Hellenistic times, 2nd century BC, covering mosaic glass beads of Greek, Egyptian and Persian origin, the golden age of mosaic glass manufacture during Roman dominance, through the Migration, Byzantine and Islamic periods, concluding in 10th century AD.  Mosaic beads are made from pre-formed sections of mosaic cane glass. This is the most difficult and complex technique in glass work.
